Seeing your primary care provider (PCP)
A Primary Care Provider (PCP) is a doctor, nurse or clinic in the Aetna Better Health network that provides your general health care.
The goal is to help you be as healthy as possible. We believe your PCP is important because this is the first place you go to get the care you need to stay healthy.
We ask that you see your PCP every three months to go over any changes in your health and review all medications. Your Care Manager can also talk with you about your health care needs and help you schedule an appointment with your PCP.
When your PCP is familiar with you, your condition and your health care needs, he or she is more likely to notice changes in your condition and be able to work with you to take positive steps in your treatment.
